Currently starring in The Edge of Darkness, Gibson was unimpressed at entertainment reporter Dean Richards bringing up his past alcohol problems and the 2006 anti-Semitic rant at a police officer.

The actor kept his cool during the interview with Chicago-based station WGN until the very end when, believing the interview to be over and his microphone switched off, he swore.

He later sent a text message to another reporter insisting the insult was aimed at his publicist, who was pulling faces off screen.
