Wefollow is a Twitter users directory where you can find twitters of your interests and start following them. i tried few smiler directories and found this one to be  high ranked (Google, Alexa), neat design, nicely categorized with impressive search results which can be sorted by Most influential Twitters & Twitters with most Followers.

Unfortunately, there is no native twitter way to send an auto response / welcome message to the new twitter followers. i hope twitter will be implement it in the near future.

Tto create an auto response, you have to rely on a 3rd party service website called Tweet Later.
