DNJournal has reported today that Moniker.com an ICANN Accredited Domain Registrar has completed the sale of Guns.com domain name for $800,000 to an unidentified buyer. That ranks as the highest .com sale of the new year and is the third highest sale overall, trailing only Poker.org at $1,000,000 and Credit.fr at €587,500 ($851,875). Quite an odd twist to have the biggest .com sale of the year ranking only third among all extension sales.
