Well the future seems to be finally here. What has been seen in futuristic sci-fi movies for centuries finally seems to find its way into the office and home of todays generation. Gizmodo wrote a great Review of the new Lenovo Thinkpad that supports 4 fingers on the touch screen. The notebook is said to be the first multitouch hardware that acually holds what it promises.

Yeah, it’s more than freaking cool, but what the hell are you really going to use that for? Beyond the picture and games I showed you, the answer is “not much right now.” Lenovo will remind you that there are more programs like Space Claim coming soon, which lets designers use multiple fingers to move around objects (you can see the app in action here). But those programs are going to be few and far between until multitouch starts to take off on PCs.

One of the reasons Facebook is very popular is because of it’s chat feature. You can chat with your friends on the website. But there it’s quite touch to ignore people on Facebook chat as there is no option to put a busy or not available status, there is not even a invisible option like in other messengers.

But you can do one thing to solve that problem. You can be offline for a specific group of people.

• Create a new list of Friends and name it anything, I name it Show Offline as I will be offline to them.

• You can see in the 2nd image that there is a list where you can drag your friends to from the other list.

• When you are done dragging all the Friends you want to be shown offline to. Click on Go Offline. You will be offline for them and you can enjoy chatting with the ones you want.

• If you want to add or remove a few friends from the list then just go online and drag friends in and out of the list

Our previous Google Translate fail was “Islamic Republic of Russia“

Last month visitors to Baidu.com were redirected to a page stating that the site had been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army.  You can find our report here about that.  Baidu later sued Register.com for allegedly allowing a security intrusion that enabled the hackers to change the name servers for Baidu.com.

Here’s how Baidu alleges the hacker got access to one of the world’s most popular web sites domain name account in under an hour :

1. Hacker starts online chat session with Register.com representative, claiming to be an agent of Baidu.

2. Register.com representative asks hacker to provide verification information. Hacker provides invalid information, but Register.com goes ahead and e-mails a security code to the email address it has on file for Baidu anyway.

3. The hacker doesn’t have access to that e-mail address, so he/she relays a bogus security code to the Register.com representative via chat. Baidu claims the representative didn’t bother to compare the code to the actual one.

4. Hacker asks Register.com representative to change email address on file to antiwahabi2008@gmail.com, and representative does.

5. Hacker now uses “forgot password” link at Register.com to request the username and password to the account. Hacker can then log in and change the name servers.

Domain Name wire mentioned that this isn’t the first time a major corporation has had its nameservers changed thanks to a compromised domain account. But the details in how the account was allegedly compromised are stunning. It’s also unfortunate that, had Baidu used added security such as that offered by Moniker or Fabulous, this entire event could have been avoided.
